Gosh… are you longing for newness?

Look no further than the newest vegan cafe to hit the Klang Valley! Fortunate Coffee! A zen-inspired, clean-cut, vegan cafe that has pre-identified its gluten-free options on its menu (don’t you LOVE when that happens?).

Fortunate Coffee, Sunway Geo and Mont Kiara, $$ 19/20

The restaurant is very calming to be in. The simplistic design and focus on zen elements calms the mind immediately.

They are clean in appearance and in spirit. The food, for instance, does not seek to imitate meat, but to be amazingly flavourful in its variegated vegetal forms. That’s sort of what I mean. Clean of spirit.

Dishes are simple but delicious. Nothing over the top. Small portions. Delightful to the senses. Wait staff take time to explain the concept of the food and drinks to customers. They listen. And they try. Such a rarity in our fast-paced F&B world!

Dear Jee-Eff-Ers (GFers)!

Over the last few years, there has been a growth of healthful-mindful-vegetarian/vegan chains in Malaysia. These include: Simple Life, BMS Organics, Just Life, etc. The great thing about multiple outlet stores is that they are… well, MULTIPLE! Even one in KLIA2!!!

You can be assured of similar menu offerings, preparation process (important for GFers) and quality! BMS Organics is no different. I love their healthful options! Many of them are gluten free: the salads and the curry soups especially.

Do ask the staff just to double check, but most of the time, the staff are quite well-versed in allergy-based queries.

One of my go-to favourites is the kerabu salad (below). Their interpretation is a lighter, vegan version of the original. Not as intense, but just as delightful and energising.

They also have adjacent stores that sell gluten-free and allergy-conscious food – always a plus for Daisy! 🙂
